Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are very thin shells of porcelain or composite covering the visible part of the teeth. Dental veneers can correct numerous cosmetic smile problems. They can also provide a dramatic transformation of your smile in a very short period of time. The entire process takes 2-4 weeks depending on the number of veneers. Dental veneers can serve as a versatile cosmetic dental solution, correcting various problems simultaneously, including:

  • Misalignment of teeth
  • Discoloration and deep staining
  • Chipped and weak teeth
  • Gaps and spaces
  • Minor crowding

There are only two types of dental veneers based on material. Within each category and sub-category there are many different brands and types of porcelain. High product porcelain material is one that bonds to teeth well, is durable and provides superior esthetics. In our porcelain veneers we utilize Emax and Empress porcelain veneers, two of the top products available in cosmetic dentistry.

1. Porcelain Veneers
a. Traditional full thickness veneers
b. Minimal prep veneers
c. No prep veneers

2. Composite Veneers also know as composite bonding

Dental veneers can also correct a combination of these problems, as shown in some of our patient cases below.

The process of dental veneers:

1. First appointment = consultation
2. Second appointment = preparation of teeth
3. Third appointment = placement of veneers

“The most important factor in cosmetic dentistry is patients’ expectations. We have created an ingenious process of quantifying and understanding patient expectations and delivering beautiful esthetics and highly predictable results.”

Below are several cases of cosmetic dental patients seeking dental veneers to solve different smile problems. These patients expressed different desires and expectations as to how the teeth should look. Reading and going through these cases would give a good idea of what dental veneers can do for you.

Veneers Patient “A”

Patient’s problems/concerns

Prior to her wedding, the patient was concerned about her smile. Her main priority was to correct the chipped and thinning teeth, as well as minor spacing.

Patient’s expectations

This patient’s goal was to correct the above problems with veneers, and to produce a very natural beautiful smile in harmony with the rest of her teeth and lip position.

Outcome

Natural and beautiful looking veneers with great alignment as well as healthy tissue adaptation.

Type of veneers used

Minimal prep veneers also know as ultra-thin veneers.

Veneers Patient “C”

Patient’s problems/concerns

This patient expressed that she always hated the deep staining in her teeth since a young age. She dealt with it for years and she wanted lighter teeth. This was her primary concern, along with gum recession and chipping of the teeth.

Patient’s expectations

This patient’s goal was to obtain dental veneers than would mask the internal staining, and give her the whitest teeth possible.

Outcome

The lightest dental veneer shade available was utilized. This is what she wanted and she was very happy.

Type of veneers used

Porcelain veneers full thickness.

Veneers Patient “D”

Patient’s problems/concerns

The primary concern for this patient was to replace unnatural, bulky and defective composite veneers. Unlike porcelain veneers, composite veneers leak over time and that’s how they look after a few years.

Patient’s expectations

This patient’s goal was to have veneers that are natural looking and in harmony with the shade and shape of his teeth.

Outcome

A beautiful natural transformation that met and exceeded the patient’s expectations. The teeth were also brought inward for more natural contours.

Type of veneers used

Porcelain full thickness veneers.

Veneers Patient “E”

Patient’s problems/concerns

Patient’s expectations

This patient’s goal was to obtain a beautiful and very bright smile with natural length of teeth. The patient expressed the desire for the brightest teeth possible.

Outcome

A beautiful natural transformation that met and exceeded patient expectations of very bright teeth with normal proportions.

Type of veneers used

Porcelain full thickness veneers.

Additional procedures

Gum lengthening cosmetic surgery.

Veneers Patient “F”

Patient’s problems/concerns

The primary concerns for this patient included limited finances, existing decay between front teeth, crowding, and misalignment.

Patient’s expectations

This patient’s goal was to correct considerable misalignment and crowding, and to treat the decay with a less costly alternative to porcelain veneers. This would produce a more acceptable esthetic result until he is able to get porcelain veneers in a few years.

Outcome

Exceeded patient expectations with a much less costly alternative to porcelain veneers. This patient was very appreciative.

Type of veneers used

Composite dental veneers or composite bondings.
