February 27, 2021 8:58 am |The word “cancer” is one that no one wants to hear during a medical visit. Fortunately, mouth and throat cancers are highly treatable when diagnosed early. A basic understanding of the early signs and symptoms of the disease can go a long way in helping you get early treatment. In this blog post, we’ve listed some of the most common warning signs of oral cancer so you can keep a watchful eye on your wellness.
Visual Cues for Oral Cancer Warning Signs
There are certain visual cues that appear with oral cancer. One example is a white or reddish patch inside your mouth that doesn’t match the color of the rest of the area. Additionally, if you notice that you have a sore on your mouth or lip that doesn’t seem like it’s healing, that could also be a sign of oral cancer.Pain
Oral cancer can also reveal itself through a sore throat that won’t go away or pain in the mouth or ear. Another common symptom is difficulty or pain when chewing, swallowing, moving the tongue, or moving the jaw.Additional Oral Cancer Warning Signs
You should also watch out for: lumps in your mouth, throat, or lymph glands; unintentional weight loss; changes in your voice; swelling in your jaw; chronic bad breath; or loose permanent teeth.
