What to Expect at Your Cosmetic Consultation

December 30, 2020 8:24 am | Published by

A consultation is a relaxed dental visit where the main objective is to: go over your expectations and budget; assess the health and condition of your teeth and gums; discuss your treatment options in-depth; and schedule any follow-up appointments.

Cost

Consultations are free so they are not included in the cost of your custom treatment plan. They only serve to begin the treatment process and make sure patients are well-informed from the very beginning. We will go over your budget and desired payment method or methods that you would like to utilize to pay for your treatment.

Ask Questions

Before your consultation, write down all your questions and concerns so you don’t forget them! Then at your appointment, our team can address them with you in person. This allows for a productive back-and-forth conversation to ensure that you and our team are on the same page. Of course, if you remember a question you forgot to ask later on, or you think of any other questions, please reach out to our office for clarification!

Treatment Guidance

We want to help you achieve your ideal smile! Our team will guide you to the right cosmetic treatments for your unique goals, lifestyle, and budget. We’ll break down the pros and cons of each treatment, and help you anticipate what your smile will look like after your treatment is complete.

If you’re deciding between porcelain veneers and teeth whitening, for example, our team would be happy to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both choices. We never pressure patients into making decisions–we only strive to provide the information you need to make a confident choice.

Same-Day Treatment

Cosmetic consultations sometimes involve taking the first step in the treatment process to reduce the number of appointments the the patient has to schedule and to help them achieve their dream smile faster.

For example, ClearCorrect® orthodontic plans require X-rays and impressions of the patients’ teeth to be taken so that their clear aligners can be designed specifically for their smile. Once you decide to go ahead with orthodontic treatment, we can complete the impressions and X-rays during your consultation so that your custom aligners will be ready for you to pick up at your next visit!
